About Dawn
I recently qualified as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide because I am passionate about showcasing this part of the country to visitors.
Kent has everything going for it; castles, cathedrals, countryside & coastline - as the oldest county in England, more history than most!
And as for gardens – well, which type do you want? Glorious stately home gardens, little cottage gardens, hop gardens, orchards, vineyards; Kent is not called the Garden of England for nothing!
With all that growing going on it’s easy to be a foodie in Kent, foods produced here are famous the world over. Even English wine is no-joke-no-more – did you know that Tenterden has almost exactly the same soil and latitude as the Champagne region in France? Try a taste test for yourself.
It’s the social history that I really enjoy sharing – bringing the landscape and its buildings alive so that visitors can understand how Kent was shaped by its people, or is it the other way around? Perhaps when you’ve visited Kent a little bit of it stays with you for always!
