About Nathalie

I am French and moved to London in 2000 for work,as a library manager in a tv company. Within 2 years the business moved to Kent and as my partner lived in Faversham I moved there too.

At first, I found Faversham charming. As a medieval market town, it has historical features that make it precious, the market place and its Guildhall, Abbey Street and its old houses, the creek and its sailing barges… It just is a lovely place and clearly I was falling in love with it. As well as looking nice visually, Faversham has a great community of people and most of what you need, shops, good pubs, excellent restaurants, a cinema, a theatre, a folk club etc…

Being an amateur photographer, and wanting to pay tribute to Faversham, I put together a community project to do just that, the idea being to record every day of its life, with photographs taken by its people. It became 'A Year in the Life of Faversham'; an exhibition and a book.

I decided to work part time so I could dedicate more time on this project (this year, 2010, in its second edition and Lottery funded) to help put the town on the art and culture map in Kent. I then realised that the town had a real potential, with many artists around and an art gallery and studios being developed. I am now spending as much time as I can also developing a variety of projects based on the Kent artist community.
