About Simon

There are loads of different ways people see Kent - the rich, green orchards, the oast-houses, the beautiful coastline. But when I've thought of this county my mouth has always watered. And like a lot of my friends from round here, I've always been really passionate about making sure everyone who comes to Kent, or lives here, gets to taste what this county produces.

And the fish is top of the menu for me - such a magnificent array of species, all locally and sustainably sourced. We've re-introduced that connection between the sea and the kitchen, one that's healthy, responsible and, of course, delicious. The shop local concept is important for a lot of people and, of course, really helps out local producers like me. In fact, one of the things we're most proud of, ironically, is that the big supermarket chains locally are now doing much, much more to stock local food.

I'd still say we've got the edge over the big stores though - well, it's not just what I say actually, since we've won a lot of great accolades recently - including from Rosie Prince who picked us as the Best Fishmonger in the South East of England. We've also been featured in publications such as the Good Producers' Guide and Country Life. And yes, I'm really proud of our achievements. But the thing I'm most proud of is the produce itself, our fantastic fruits of the sea.
