Owned by the Aspinall family - like Port Lympne - Howletts is a huge zoo featuring the most wonderful selection of animals, tigers, elephants, gorillas and much, much more. Set out over smaller grounds than its sister zoo, the walk is somewhat easier and gentle. Plenty of food stalls that are reasonably priced. This is a great day out for all the family or couples alike.

I love Howletts it's somewhere you can return time and time again. The range of animals are great and the kids love it.

Love Howletts, well worth a days visit if you're in the area, if you live in Kent then get the year passport, visit as often as you want for under £20! Had some amazing days out here, and see different animals each time.

This is a favourite place of ours to visit. With Howletts now offering a ticket that's valid all year it's even better value. If the kiddies have had enough of looking at the animals then there is a play area for them and a lovely picnic area.

One of my favourite places to visit, you are never ever disappointed with your day here. whether you go just to have a look, take the kids, or, like myself for a purpose (photography) you are guaranteed to have a great day... Howletts has a large family of elephants, the youngest born towards the end of 2010 called manzai, and Itana is slightly older at just over a year. they are truly magical to watch. Howletts is also renowned for its Gorilla enclosure! again a mesmerizing part of the zoo... I would recommend this to everyone (although as a family a season ticket would probably be the better option)...
